This week I gave gel candle making a shot. It was so much simpler than I had anticipated and so much quicker as well. I now have lots of little gift candles to give to people to light up their homes in winter.
My next creation is going to be knitting socks. For all who know me well, you will be aware that I hate following instruction booklets! My brain is not a logical brain and I struggle with numbers, following patterns etc etc. The only items I have ever knitted are scarves – simple, therapeutic, no stress. I really am going to be challenging myself with knitting these slipper socks but I am determined to do it and finish them in a month. I had a look at the pattern yesterday and had a slight panic (especially as I saw that I will have to knit it on four needles!)

The cosy slipper socks I am going to attempt to knit
I have been trying to take as many photos as I can for my course, but because my camera is broken I am unable to really delve into the technical aspects as fully as i should be doing,(ISO, aperature and shutter speed settings.) I am really enjoying getting back into photography though.

A photograph of a rose that I took last weekend
That rose photo is gorgeous! I also think the ones of the frog at Countesswells the other day were amazing too. You do cool things with a broken camera, Lesley. I am also well impressed that you are going to try that sock pattern out–they are so cute. I love knitting socks!
