So on Sunday I made it to the top of Bennachie – which I haven’t managed since before my accident, yay! It was a very different experience walking up it with a prosthetic leg, at parts it was challenging and at points I was scared. My balance is progressing but it is not as good as a person who has two legs and it was very windy up there! It was great to reach the top and to feel I had achieved something. It is crazy to think that a year and a half ago I was pretty immobile, in loads of pain and had a leg that looked this this..

At the woodland at the base of Bennachie I picked lots of wild blueberries and brambles which I have now preserved in a variety of ways. yum, yum! Here is a photo of my mixed berry liquer maturing..

This year the plum trees in the garden out did themselves and so I am needing to find a lot of homes for a lot of plums pronto. Check this out…..

I’ve already made plum jam and plum brandy and my neighbour made some delicious marshmallows with them and is planning to bake a plum cake. I have given out baskets of plums left, right and centre yet it still looks like I have hundreds left!!
